Aquatic Ape Hypothesis

the modern sciense investigated the evolution of humans and defined its origion is from the apes.

Yet there is an interesting theory regarding mankind evolution. this theory called aquatic ape theory (AAT) is a proposal that the evolutionary ancestors of modern humans spent a period of time adapting to a semiaquatic existence.[1][2] The hypothesis was first proposed by German pathologist Max Westenhöfer in 1942, and then independently by English marine biologist Alister Hardy in 1960. After Hardy, the most prominent proponent was Welsh writer Elaine Morgan, who wrote a series of books on the topic.

Hardy claimed humans did start as apes but for a period of time in history entered the water and lived there.

Human body has many clues for that theory. some organs seems out of place for a savana ape living in Africa.

it is a known fact that hairless creatures usually live in water. it enables them smooth swimming and less drag in the water.

the little hair we do have on our body forms a simetric shape with center line to decrease the drag in water.

a good example for mammle that lives in water is the dolphin. you can see good resemblance between humans and dolphins.

for example their flippers has bones and looks like human hand with fingers. not like sharks that have no finger bones in their flippers.

Humans are the only one who can hold their breagth underwater freely. only marine mammles act the same while diving for hunting.

Humans have fat layer under skin like many marine mammles such as sealions, seals and whales. babies are born with extra fat layer under skin. that quality allows them to swim very good in cold water as soon as they are born.

these characters has no meaning for land living humans.

Now for our origion from dolphins:

notice a few things when we talk about dolphins:

1. They have fingers in their fins, shrks for example has no fingers.

2. They have bones made of calcium.

3. The brain weight is large in propotion to their body weight just like human.

4. The communicate very good between themselfs.

5. They guard humans in trouble- many examples over the years.

6. They understand many signs in the human sign langauge.
